The guest of honor

The Apostle John was put on the island of Patmos because he told people about the gospel.
The Romans thought this would end this movement but it didn't
Jesus revealed the last days to John on this island.
We have been through the first eleven verses of chapter one.
I will explain verses twelve and thirteen to you today.
John heard a voice and he turned around to see who was speaking. He was put on the island by himself and he had an Guest of Honor. And when he looked he saw seven golden lampstands.

Revelation 1:12
I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands.

You are wondering on this point. He looked back and there was seven golden lampstands. It stands for the seven churches in verse twenty of Revelation 1:20.

Revelation 1:20
The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.

Let us look at Revelation 1:13.

Revelation 1:13
And among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest.

I have already talked about the son of man but I will do it again.
If you study on Daniel 7:13 and Mark 8:31 then this will explain the title of "son of man."

Daniel 7:13
In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence.

Mark 8:31
He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again.

Jesus will be be enthroned as ruler over the whole earth and his kingdom will never be destroyed whether on earth or in heaven. Coming with the clouds of heaven.

You see in verse thirteen that Jesus had a robe that reach to His feet and with a golden sash around his chest.
I need to go to Exodus 28:4 and 29:5 to explain this idea.

Exodus 28:4
These are the garments they are to make: a breastpiece, an ephod, a robe, a woven tunic, a turban and a sash. They are to make these sacred garments for your brother Aaron and his sons, so they may serve me as priests.

Exodus 29:4
Take the garments and dress Aaron with the tunic, the robe of the ephod, the ephod itself and the breastpiece. Fasten the ephod on him by its skillfully woven waistband.

This a reference to Christ as high priest is supported by the reference to the golden sash around his chest.

Jesus is our high priest.
Hebrews 3:1
Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.

Psalm 110:4
The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind:
“You are a priest forever,
    in the order of Melchizedek.
